Pasta recipe

Ok, this is the recipe I tried posting yesterday but the fonts are still wonky this morning, so rather than get myself all worked up, I simply changed to another font. ;) My pasta recipes are all similar it's just a matter of changing some ingredients and the type of pasta used. I tend to go for a simple olive oil-based dish.

Pasta with bacon and crabsticks

Ingredients -

Linguine
approx 30g of back bacon, cut into small pieces
1/4 of a white onion
1 garlic, sliced thin
1/4 of a capsicum, cut into strips
7-8 stalks of baby asparagus, cut into 3 lengthwise
3-4 fresh button mushrooms, quartered
approximately 4 crabsticks
5-6 cocktail sausages
3-4 basil leaves
Italian seasoning
fresh ground black pepper
salt

Method -

1. Cook linguine till al dente.
2. Fry bacon fat to extract oil. Remove from pan when cooked, and put in lean bacon to cook till brown. Remove and put aside.
3. Using oil from bacon, fry onion till light brown, add garlic and vegetables. When halfway cooked, add mushroom, sausages and crabsticks. Mix well.
4. Put linguine into pan to fry with ingredients. Add basil, Italian herbs, pepper and salt to taste.

This recipe serves 1-1/2. (1 is me and 1/2 is princess) :)

Enjoy!

Hey there! thanks for visiting my blog. My hubby whips up a similar Linguine dish from time to time and we love it. He uses prawns, bacon and snowpeas instead but its cooked in the same way. oh, he adds some chopped chillies too . It's so YUMMY!

Hi babychef & Oh for the love of food,

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

Babychef - Thanks. I love crabsticks. :)

Oh for the love of food - Thanks for visiting mine ;) Yes, I do sometimes use prawns, snowpeas etc. Just depends on what I feel like at the moment and what vegetables look the freshest.

Haha, I like linguine. I don't like spaghetti. I usually use penne for this dish but just wanted a change. Like what 'oh for the love of food' said, sometimes, I do cut up little chilli padi and add it in, of course just for myself. It goes very well.
