Went to the market this morning and saw some nice lotus roots. It's quite difficult to buy stuff like that, especially vegetables, as there are only the 3 of us in the house so I usually only buy a small fistful of them and the vegetable seller always asks, 'is that enough?'. So anyway, told him to cut off half a piece of small lotus root. Cooked that with peanuts and lean pork, and added red dates at the end.
For the main dish, I cooked a chicken stew to make things easy. Just added potatoes, carrots, onions, some little leftover celery and mushrooms just to get rid of them.
