Northern Indian Cuisine

Over a year ago, my cousin, J, introduced this little restaurant to us. From the outside, and even when you enter, you wouldn't think much of it. But the numerous awards lining the wall behind the cashier counter speaks volumes. Despite the awards, the owner/s choose to maintain the warm cosy atmosphere that imparts from this eatery. I was saying to hubby that they should do it up a little, but I guess the food is THE most important factor. We have been there 3 or 4 times, each time bringing with us guests who have thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of food offered to them. Even that time when we took the godparents and their boys and all the kids enjoyed the dinner very much.

Today, however, we went alone as I had this craving for Indian food after seeing HK blog about her tandoori dinner. But of course, ours was way unhealthy with everything we ordered covered in gravy. I don't know how they can say their food is healthy. Haha. We never even ordered any tandoori anything.

Princess decides that she wasn't going to eat anything this evening after we had ordered so many dishes. She was happy with her mushroom soup and papadam. She also loaded up on lime juice. Sigh. So it was left to me and hubs to try and eat as much as we could. I'm bursting now, by the way.

From left to right we have Delhi Butter Chicken (a specialty); Chicken Tikka Masala; Delhi Prawns (a specialty).

Delhi Naan.

Bharta, which is mashed eggplant.

And Kashmiri Pilaf Rice with dried fruits such as cherries, raisins, pineapples. Even this she refused to eat. I guess just not in the mood today for Indian, unlike her parents.

I heard from cousin that one of their mutton dish is very good but we don't take mutton.

I highly recommend this place if you are looking for good and reasonably priced food. We're lucky as this is the second time we've visited, that Citibank is having a promotion and we got 20% off the total bill. Try it out someday. Or better still, take advantage of the current discount.

papadams and dahl are probably my favourite Indian dish. Well, I like the tandori chicken, too, but for some reason it doesn't like me!!
Looks like you were treated to a well-deserved night off. Hubby must have known how you needed it. Good for him - and YOU. ;o)

little corner of mine - Actually no lah. Photography always makes things look bigger than they are. The dishes are small and only few pieces of meat. It's just the gravy is very rich, but otherwise there were like 6 little prawns, and chicken also not many.
