Well, I don't really want to post about the dinner itself, as the offerings are similar to my first steamboat dinner at home.
What I will share instead, is the tossing of the Yu Sheng (raw fish salad) - a Chinese New Year must have. It is a uniquely Singaporean dish created by 4 master chefs. Please read here for more info on Yu Sheng. Dad got it from Meidi-ya, a Japanese supermarket chain.
There's also the Chendol Agar-Agar which I saw from Peony's blog. (I got the serrated knife, Peony, it's gorgeous). I made it this morning to bring to dinner tonight. It turned out great, not too sweet.

I'm so gonna try this agar2!! Hmm, never had Yu sheng all my life! Wonder how it taste like?
maya - Yes, try it. It's lovely. Yu Sheng is halal no? You can buy the ready ones in supermarket cos my aunt does and then she shred the carrots etc. It's kind of sweet because of the plum sauce. Don't put too much or it will be overly sweet.
Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope it is a wonderful one for you!
I have missed a number of days' posts, and all of these dishes look incredible! My mouth watered at the udon and shrimp (prawns), and the tradition of tossing the raw fish salad is something I've never heard of before!
Wishing you & family:
Xin Nian Kuai Le!
Sheng Ti Jian Kang!
Gong Xi Fa Cai!
By the way, does the Yu Sang came with that pretty box?
