The passing of Ah Meng

Today we mourn the loss of Ah Meng, that precious orang utan we all grew up knowing. She was 48 years old and I'm sure lots of people will miss her. I didn't know till sis mentioned it. How sad it is.

I read the news last night and was so shocked. Sort of took Ah Meng for granted, like just assume that she will be well always. Ah Meng always make the zoo visits more interesting when we were in pri sch-everyone wants to see the famous and gentle Ah meng!

RIP Ah Meng =(

daphne - Indeed, very sad and like you say, we took for granted that she'll always be there, like an immortal. Yes, may she rest in peace. She was a great gal.

Yep thought she was immortal. Very sad, especially for her 5 kids and grandkid. I think we all grew up hearing lots about her. Farewell Ah Meng.....

cranberry - Yes, indeed.

karlsfoodie - Oh dear, a pity then that you didn't get to visit the zoo on Thursday.

shazz - I know, we all knew her from young, kind of grew up together with her. And it's sad for her family.

east meets west kitchen - Did you see her during your visits to the zoo?
