Wednesday's dinner

Our dinner dishes two nights' ago. Used the leftover soup from day before that and added some seaweed meatballs and spinach. We had an outing with KY in the afternoon and didn't have much time to prepare dinner, so I had to plan simple things that I could whip up in a jiffy. I think I'm getting good at this - preparing for dinner in the morning haha. I did that twice last week, as was busy and out mostly, so only had minimum time to put together a quick dinner.

Fish was easy too as it was just a matter of putting the seasoning and garnishes and leaving the steamer to do all the work. Vegetables were soaked and prepared before I left the house, and there were these cheese fishcakes to be fried, and voila, dinner was ready. :) I love the fishcakes as they have cheese oozing out when you bite into them.

"Make ahead" meals are one of my favourite things! It takes a bit of planning ahead, but in the long run it is just SO much better! Good job!

That fish sure looked yummy. Very fleshy and juicy I bet. Wish I could find it here too. You certainly sound like you're getting really good at whipping up tasty and healthy meals in a jiffy!

beachlover - Thanks. Hahaha, so funny you. Yes hubby ate the fish. I think living in Asia got no choice right, cos when we go restaurant for dinner and all, there's usually fish. But he is still not good with the bones bit.

shazz - You remember them? Real lovely fishcakes. :) Ai, forget them cheese buns. We were so young, don't even know which bakery and whether it still exists. Haha. But can still imagine the taste of that cheese no? I can.

sweet jasmine - I'm sorry, will post a picture next time when I buy it again. I didn't take note of brand. Bought in wet market.

trevshanhann - Next time I get you a packet.

jori - You are too right. But I only do it when I will be out for the day or else by the time I rush back, have no time to prepare and will be lazy.

beau lotus - Oh yes, was lovely the fish. Oh thank you for your vote of confidence in me.

little corner of mine - Thanks. You better believe they taste very yummy, but fried is better as there is a sort of crunchiness in the skin. I don't think it will taste nice if put in soup.

aw...here in hong kong they have cheese balls, which are fishcakes with cheddar cheese fillings, normally for hotpot...these ones seem to have cheese bits all over instead of a huge chunk of cheese?

mochachocolata rita - Yes, I think you're right. I didn't pay particular attention to the cheese but I believe there were bits all over. And no, it's not just a huge chunk in the middle.

Love yr food and the nice square dinner plate....had been eyeing it for sometime...and waiting for some discount on this....coz was quite expensive...later i settle for one oval one in Parkson recently..costing less than 15 rm.

sweet jasmine - Thanks, dear. Which square dinner plate? The dark-coloured one? Actually it was rectangular. I bought it at Daiso, only S$2! But I do love it.
