Have so many backlog of posts and it's only because I'm not able to sleep that I have this chance now to do some updates. Woke up at 3.30am to go to the toilet and have been awake since. I know I am going to suffer later. Plus princess won't be in school today so I won't get to rest in the morning. Why she's not in school, that is another story altogether.
Right now, I want to boast that I am a very proud mama who has a little girl who was so brave to have her tiny ears pierced. Not a cry or a whimper from her.
Princess had been bugging to get her ears done for a few weeks' now and I wasn't too keen on it. My intention was to keep her from having any holes done to any part of her body for as long as I could. But she was adamant. I managed to coax her to leave it till later, but in the end, it was a missing magnet earring that sealed the fate. She had gone to Sunday school last weekend and wore her fake magnetic dangling earrings. When hubby picked her up at the end of mass, she came to me with tears in her eyes. One side of her earrings had gone missing and they couldn't find it. I calmed her down and told her we'd go to Daiso to get another pair. Unfortunately, much to my dismay, it was really the last pair on the rack so we couldn't find the same ones. Very visibly upset, so sigh, soft-hearted mama told her she could go get real earrings done.
She was excited about it but still very sore about her favourite pair, even sobbing at night when going to bed. So there was no way I could postpone it further. A quick message to KY to check if she was available to go with us to do it on Monday 7 April, just to hold princess' hands while mummy recorded the moment with her vcam, and she readily agreed. Thanks dear. :)
I was advised by many mums that I should do the two guns option, where two people pierce the holes at the same time. One hole at a time, especially for a little kid, would be too cruel. They have to suffer twice, and worse, might not have the other side pierced once they have the first one done.
When the guns went through the ears, there was a shock that registered on her face, and the eyes were beginning to turn a little red. However, brave little one managed to control her tears and suffer for the sake of vanity.
However, I'm not too pleased with the result as I feel that the right hole is slightly lower than the left one. However, the only consolation is that at certain angles, they do even out. The unevenness is minimal so I choose not to put her through it again.

Wah...so now they have two guns, one shot option. I want my girls to wear earrings too but will wait til they turn 8.
Will e-mail you when I'm in JB. :)
lol you're welcome altho I didn't get to hold her hands at all hhehe, no space to stand close to her.... but lovely... Godpa's fav colour too!
little corner of mine - Oh yes, I think is a great option for little children. Remember it when it's their turn. Can't wait to see you soon.
karen - Thanks, dearie. Just being there and bribing with ice-cream was good enough. ;)
oo.. pretty earrings for princess soon =) I suppose it is better to go through this young than older. Brave princess!
daphne - She can't wait for those dangling ones. That's the whole purpose of getting them ears pierced!
Ah, that reminded me of Baby Girl's piercing in Singapore a few months back. 2 guns option too and I should have filmed her face when she stopped smiling upon realisation of what had just happened. But she cried. Thank God her dad was there with her. I had to bribe her with loads of sweets.
But I was pleased with the results and they were quite pro about it, giving us a card for 3 free cleaning in the following 3 weeks. You feel quite reassured when they do that.
Hope she'll get to wear her desired dangling earrings soon :-).
Hey S, I remember now you were relating to me the incident of little T having her ears pierced when we met. Did you do it at Wisma B*dazzle too? I did film mine but it wasn't very obvious her reaction to the shot. In person you could see it but the camera somehow didn't capture it. It's the shock at the realisation of what had just happened. Awww... lucky daddy was there to lend his support. But she wanted it herself ya? If they want it they can bare and grin but it's quite scary I'm sure. Like my sis says, it's a rite of passage for most girls. They'll have to go through it sometime in their life.
Oh ya lah, mine I'm not pleased but I can't fault them. It's the shape of her ears. When you look at the earrings individually, they are in the middle of both earlobes but when you look from the front directly, they are slightly uneven. Aiyah what to do?
Yes, mine too got three cleaning and checking sessions within 6months. First is one week after piercing, then the week after followed by two more visits two weeks apart.
Hehe, we were looking at some dangling ones already but she chose all those heavy costume ones hahaha. Will have to look for light, dainty ones.
pretty!!!
princess is brave yea
