little corner of mine - Oh, have a look next time you visit the Asian store or supermarket.

hk choo - I am so not convinced ok?!

peony - Ya, haha, me too. Lol. I don't usually eat it as it is tasteless but when it's in season it is actually sweet. I know from sneaking little pieces while slicing them out for little one.

Never, in my whole life, have I ever seen such a fruit. I like to think that I am very aware of 'new and unique' things, so thank you for introducting me to something new! (Trust me, from the size I am, you know I like my food...;o) )
Now to see if I can ever find that here in Canada. Probably doesn't ship well??

jori - Haha, I believe this fruit is native to Vietnam. We get them every day now, I guess they aren't seasonal fruits. Only occasionally you get the red meat ones which I think are from Malaysia. I do not think that they do not ship well. They are quite hardy and the flesh reminds one of kiwi fruits from New Zealand except that they are white, although the skin is many times more tough. Maybe they just haven't made it to where you are.

Lovely dish! We get dragonfruit at the asian market here, but it looked like it's been sitting there for awhile. Must remember to have some dragonfruit next time I'm in Singapore. ;)

I saw this for the first time today in the supermarket. It really is an amazing looking fruit. It's very eye-catching and just looks completely different to anything else.

I bought one (just one because they're pretty expensive) and took it home with me. I haven't eaten it yet but I'm looking forward to that.

I've also read that it's pretty easy to grow them from seeds although they do grow slowly. I'm going to save some seeds and give it a go.

Hi Sean, thanks for popping by, wow, congrats on spying them in the supermarket. Well, I guess one fruit is enough to just try out for the first time. No point buying more than one if you haven't tried it. I'm not sure of the season so it can either be bland or sweet. See if you like it first before splurging on more. :) Oh yes, that'd be interesting to try growing them. Good luck! :)
